Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PodDigest.
Use cases
What is PodDigest?▾
PodDigest is an AI tool that generates smart summaries of podcasts and YouTube videos. Paste a link — get a summary in your preferred format, no account or sign-up required.
What sources are supported?▾
We support YouTube videos (with captions enabled), podcast RSS feeds, and Apple Podcasts links. Spotify is not supported as it doesn't provide direct audio access.
What summary formats do you offer?▾
We offer over 10 formats: TL;DR, flashcards, fact-check, implementation plan, meeting notes, key quotes, LinkedIn post, X thread, and many more.
Can I summarize a podcast in English?▾
Yes! PodDigest supports content in both Polish and English. The summary is generated in the language selected in your site settings.
How long a podcast can I summarize?▾
The practical limit is 2–3 hours of content. Longer episodes trigger a cost cap and you'll receive a partial result with a note about which portion was skipped.
Can I summarize a live stream?▾
Yes — once the live has a transcript available (typically a few minutes after it ends). We also have a real-time fact-check mode for ongoing streams, but a full summary needs the finished recording with captions.
Can I summarize a playlist or an entire channel at once?▾
Yes, the Pro plan includes Bulk Summarize — paste a YouTube channel URL, pick how many recent episodes (5/10/25/50) and a minimum duration filter, and we process them in batch.
Pricing & limits
What are the Free plan limits?▾
3 summaries per day, all formats (same as paid plans), 7-day history, 1 fact-check per day. No bulk processing and no Forge/Decode. Resets at midnight UTC.
What exactly do I get on Pro?▾
Pro (29 PLN/mo): 15 summaries per day, 3 email digests, all 12 formats, YouTube bulk summarize, and a priority processing queue.
What's the difference between Pro and Ultimate?▾
Ultimate (59 PLN/mo) removes daily limits and unlocks two Ultimate-only workflows: Decode (deep tech-stack analysis) and Forge (project roadmaps). Pro is 15/day with the standard formats.
How does the one-time BLIK option work?▾
Instead of a subscription, you can pay once via BLIK or Przelewy24 for 30, 90, 180 or 365 days at the price of the Pro or Ultimate plan. After it expires you go back to Free — nothing renews automatically.
Can I get a refund?▾
Yes — you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Polish and EU consumer law. Email kontakt@podsumujpodcast.pl and we process the refund within a few business days.
Do you offer a trial?▾
The Free plan is an open-ended trial — 3 summaries per day, no card required. To try Pro features the cheapest option is a one-time BLIK for 30 days.
Privacy & data
What do you do with my email?▾
We use it only to deliver summaries and any digests you opted into. We don't sell addresses and don't send marketing emails without consent. Every message has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Are my summaries public?▾
Summary URLs use long random IDs — they're accessible only to people who know the link (unlisted). We don't index them in search engines or publish a list. Pro accounts can additionally keep history private.
Do you store transcripts?▾
Transcripts are kept temporarily during summary generation and then deleted. Only the summary and metadata (source, length) stay in the database. We never share them with third parties.
Can I delete my account?▾
Yes — there's a "Delete account" button in account settings. We remove all summaries, subscriptions and profile data within 30 days. You can also email kontakt@podsumujpodcast.pl.
Do you use my data to train AI?▾
No. Your transcripts and summaries are not used for model training. We use third-party APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity) under terms that exclude customer data from training.
Where is the database hosted?▾
All data is stored in Supabase in the EU region (Frankfurt) — GDPR-compliant. The app runs on Vercel, but user data does not leave the European Union.
Technical
How does fact-check work?▾
AI analyzes the podcast content and verifies key claims based on available sources. Each claim receives a credibility score with an explanation.
How long does it take to generate a summary?▾
Usually 30–90 seconds, depending on the length of the content and the chosen format. The summary will appear on the page or be sent to your email.
Where do you get transcripts from, and what if the video has no captions?▾
For YouTube we use the paid youtube-transcript.io API (official captions); for RSS feeds and audio podcasts we run Groq Whisper (whisper-large-v3-turbo) as the primary speech-to-text provider, with OpenAI Whisper as a fallback. When YouTube has no captions at all, we also fall back to downloading the audio and running Whisper — slower, but the summary usually still gets delivered.
Which AI models do you use?▾
Claude Haiku 4.5 and Claude Sonnet 4.5 (via OpenRouter and AWS Bedrock) for summaries, plus Perplexity Sonar Pro for source lookups during fact-check.
What if generation fails?▾
We don't charge for failed summaries — on Free they don't count toward your daily limit, on Pro you get the slot back. Common causes: private video, no captions even after retries, content over 3 hours.
Do you have an API?▾
Not yet — a public API is on the waitlist. If you'd like an integration (e.g. a webhook after a summary completes), email kontakt@podsumujpodcast.pl and we'll add you to early access.
What link formats do you support?▾
YouTube (youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, youtube.com/shorts, youtube.com/live), Apple Podcasts (podcasts.apple.com), RSS feeds (.xml/.rss) and direct links to .mp3/.m4a/.wav files.
